Photography is more than point & shoot

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

Like with most careers, you never quit learning when you’re a photographer. The more you learn, the more you realize you have a long way to go before you master your profession.

You’ll never know everything, so that's why many people specialize, and why I've learned to focus on the areas of photography that I love and enjoy doing the most.

Right now, my favourite shoot is what I call “Organic Photography”—scenes with our environment as the backdrop. Always changing, always interesting, and full of beautiful surprises.

Photographers who produce amazing shots see with their hearts and souls as well as their eyes.

All good pictures should elicit some kind of emotion, and when that happens, they are a frame-worthy success!

What are some emotive photos you can recall? Drop me a line at Country Roots Photography and let me know. I’d love to hear how this art form moves you.
